Should My Mom Contact A Lawyer?

In 2020 my mom started not feeling well. She was in her mid 60s. She went to a dr who sent her to a neurologist. They ordered a ct scan and everything came back clear. She continued to have issues and in 2022 they did another ct scan and it came back clear. She continued to have more issues and started to lose her vision. In late 2023 she went to her eye doctor for a routine eye exam. She mentioned her vision loss and he performed an exam and thought she potentially had a pituitary tumor. He sent her back to the Dr and she had another ct scan which again came back clear. Her eye Dr was convinced it was still a tumor so he sent her to a specialist and insisted he do a ct scan. He did and he finally saw she did have a pituitary tumor. He went back and reviewed all the ct scans since 2020 and was able to see the tumor was there the whole time and was missed by the radiologists all the times it was read. By this time it had grown quite large and her eye sight was almost gone. Because the size, surgery was difficult and they couldn’t get it all. They were hoping that would solve the problem, but within 1 month the tumor had regrown and she was admitted back to the hospital for a second brain surgery. They had to get more aggressive to get it all and during her time she got meningitis. She was in the hospital for 2 weeks. The Tumor is now removed but she has still not fully recovered from the second surgery that was in May of 2024. She has lost 30 pounds and has severe depression. She is weak and her body has aged several years. Is this worth contacting a lawyer? We are in Indiana.
