Sucker Punched In Las Vegas Nightclub

This past week i was in Las Vegas for a work event. I went out to a pretty well known Las Vegas nightclub and was trying to make new connections for work. The crowd was around 70/30 event people/random people at the club.
I was with a new group of people mingling and went to the bathroom after awhile to just freshen up.
As I made my way back to the group I walked through the dance floor where I saw some guy swing at some kid (who had really expensive jewelry on), I turned around and said “WTF” but as I turned around finishing my sentence, I got completely sucker punched in my face.
I’m a big guy (6’4) and it completely took the wind out of me, and I fell to my knees where I continued to get punched in the face/head by some guy i had never met, seen, or ever spoken to.
After about 15-30 seconds security stepped in and split us apart, but by then i was already bleeding from my forehead, eyebrow, and nose.
I ended up going to the hospital (refused ambulance) and had to cancel the rest of my trip which was supposed to be skiing out further west.
I ended up needing stitches on my forehead and am getting surgery on my nose to repair it as it is broken.
The police cited him with battery and i have the case report they gave me when they came to see me. When I was leaving the club a security guard walked with me to my Uber and told me that “he’s not supposed to say this, but he saw the video of it and that it’s clear that I got sucker punched and that I should 100% come back and sue that asshole for what he did”.
The only thing is, i was alone when this happened and don’t know anyone that was around me/saw what happened. I know the video evidence is there, but how do i make sure they save it? I’m also curious if the police looked at it when they came to the scene and described it in their police report (which I’m working on getting)
Just curious what my options are going forward/if i even have a case here?
Really upsetting situation all around, but just thankful to have not lost my life or serious brain trauma…
