Surgery Cancelled Prior To Deductible Resetting

Hi everyone. I was scheduled for a back surgery tomorrow, and was notified this evening !!! that it was cancelled due to my insurance denying it. I called my insurance to investigate this and they said they HAD to deny it because they called my doctors office to ask questions and the office left them on hold for almost an hour today w/o answering the necessary questions.

**note- I got a call from my surgeon earlier today suggesting I reschedule my appointment to January because “it’s a lot going on at once with my body and this is what other patients have done”. I say no I’m okay let’s continue, and now a few hours later it’s cancelled? Something sounds fishy to me. Now I’m screwed out of my 100% covered surgery because I’ve met all my deductible and will have to wait till next year and pay out of pocket since it resets. Is there anything to be done here? Any place or person to reach out to about how I’ve been wronged?
