Walmart Hired Me And Laid Me Off- But I'm Unsure Of The Process?

For location info, I work in WA remotely, but the head office is in AR. Over 2 years ago I was hired by a subcontractor for Walmart. I rose up, became a supervisor then Walmart directly said 'Hey. We want you' and recruited me off the subcontracted team for more money. In April, I joined the team and got straight to it. May comes and the initiate a layoff. 'Sorry! You can move to AR or we will be saying goodbye last day of Jan in 2025.' Because they're doing a return to office. Great. Not ideal. I haven't even been working for WM directly for a year so I get no severance- but sure. My position was taken by someone else at subcontracted location and then dissolved entirely after they left to go back to school.
I've been attempting to get accommodation, as they are affording it to those who qualify, but I've only known my therapist a week or so and I doubt I'll have the time (despite having relevant diagnosis) and will likely be denied.
My partner presented to me that 'prospecting' me like they did from their subcontracted company was illegal, something I had never considered or heard of. I cannot seem to find info on it, but he heard it from two people who used to work from Walmart as well. Should I pursue some sort of legal council? To what end? I'm likely losing my job because I don't want to move from Washington to Arkansas and this is... a lot.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
