Walmart Millet For Pet Birds Contained Lead
My aunt lost her sun conure and her cockatiel is currently in the animal hospital going through lead poisoning treatment. She and her children were absolutely devestated. She tested a toy she got with a kit that had a bell on it, no lead. She tested the millets that would be a treat for a parrot she got from Walmart and it tested positive. She doesn't have pet insurance for birds and keeping her cockatiel to get treatment for 5 days will cost her at least 5k. There is no payment plan because I guess they think pet owners under emergency have thousands in their pockets to be paid upfront, without even at least a 70% chance that the second bird survives. Is there any possible liability claim for Walmart? At least to not worry about the cost of hospital care for the pet caused by the product sold?
