What Are My Legal Options For Protection If I Am A Witness In A Child Custody Hearing With One Parent Being Known For Violent/impulsive Behavior?

Louisiana. I don't want to go into too much detail, but I will be a witness in a child custody case where one parent has shown to be violent towards not only children but also adults around them. This includes gun-related violence, although they haven't shot any people officially (yet).

I'm beginning to regret agreeing to testify as the concerning behaviors of the parent are already escalating. I am afraid they will come after me after hearing what I say about them in court.

Legally, is there anything I can preemptively do to protect myself? Or is this a "wait and do something once they actually threaten/act" situation?
