What Should I Do If Someone Hacked My Jack In The Box Account And Ordered Food To Their Address Using My Card—i Have Their Address, Should I Call The Police?
Hi everyone,
I was on my break at work today when I got an email saying, "Thank you for your Jack in the Box order." I opened the email to find a $30 delivery order placed in Fairfield, California (Northern California). I live in Southern California near Los Angeles, so I knew right away that I hadn’t placed this order.
I immediately called my bank, disputed the charge, and requested a new debit card. Thankfully, that part is handled. However, the email included the exact delivery address where the food was sent.
Now I’m wondering: should I report this to the police since I have the address? I know $30 isn’t a huge amount, but it’s frustrating to deal with the hassle of getting a new card and disputing the charge.
Would it even be worth involving law enforcement, or should I just let it go? Any advice on what steps to take (or avoid) would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
