Who Is Legally Responsible To Handle Recovery Of >10k In Commissions?

Card image cap

I worked for a tech startup in Utah last year. I have a commissions contract, but none have been paid. They owe 10's of thousands of dollars in commissions. (They laid me and many other workers off at the start of summer and never paid). From what I can find online, the Utah Wage Commission states that they are only responsible for recovering amounts from $50- $10k. Since the amount I need to recover is in excess of 10k who do I reach out to?? I feel like I am googling in circles. Is is employment lawyer time? Do I have to file with the state (Even though it is out of their jurisdiction) before contacting a lawyer? Help! I am lost in the labyrinth.
