Wife Assaulted By And Emt

Good evening everyone. I'm desperate for help. Last month, I had to take my wife to the emergency room for a prolapsed stoma. Essentially 13 inches of her intestines were hanging out of her body. No bleeding. The local ER couldn't help much other than pain meds, so they called a local ambulance company to take her 2 hours away to a more well-equipped hosptial. The female nurses at the e.r. unclothed her, as she had badages on her prolapse and a catheter, but they covered her in several blankets. She was concerned about being naked in front of an EMT on the ambulance, but the nurses assured both of us that they WOULD NOT have to touch her unless she coded. She was otherwise stable and not bleeding. I asked if I could ride in the back, but the 2 male drivers said no that I could only ride in the front. So she was by herself with the older (very obese) man in the back. As SOON as the ambulance doors closed, the the guy tightened her straps down (leaving her arms trapped) and said "OK ma'am, I'm going to have to pull down your blankets and check your heart monitor. He pulled her blankets down to her waist and commenced to grabbing her breasts and "adjusting her heart monitors." Here's the sick part, HE LEFT HER CHEST COMPLETELY EXPOSED FOR THE WHOLE 2 HOUR TRIP. He KEPT OVER AND OVER "adjusting her heart montors." He kept bare handed with his palm rubbing her nipples and everything. She asked several times to be covered and said over and over to him thay she was cold. "Can I please be covered?" He kept yelling saying "No, I can't and you better let me do my job!" She asked for her hands to be removed and he yelled and said "If I let your hands free, then all the blankets are coming entirely off!" In other words "You're gonna sit here topless and let me see and fondle you, or I'm gonna see and touch everywhere." He touched her breast's for 2 hours while I was up front. She was on high dose pain killers so he thought she wouldnt remember, but she remebers everything. When we got to the next hosptial, me and the driver up front went to the back and opened the door and I see my wife bare ass naked. He immediately shut the door. I was pissed because the nurses at the first hosptial said there was no reason to touch her unless she coded. She NEVER CODED!! And she was alone in the back with a strange guy. I was angry. But I put it aside because I thought it may have been necessary and she was already going into emergency surgery so I put it aside. When the asshole was wheeling her in, she was yelling for me and he whisked her away quickly and told her "Shut up or I'm going to tell them you're going crazy and they will put you in a room by yourself and give you something to calm down." And then he told security to make me go around and that i was going nuts. I wasn't going nuts. I didn't say a word. So I had to wait an hour to see her. She finally broke down and told me all this a few days ago and told me the whole story and she was so ashamed. I am FUCKING LIVID!!!!!!!! He gave her NO respect, NO dignity, NO care, NO compassion, and took advantage of MY WIFE in a vulnerable state. She is 4'11, 90lbs and tiny, soft spoken and has cerebral palsy. She had NO HOPE to defend herself. She is a MAGNET for predators and shes already been sexually assaulted in her past. Shes disabled and cant run away and like i said, shes tiny. The shame I feel, the helplessness, the rage, the anger, the anxiety, the guilt I feel for not being able to protect me wife is eating me alive. She has nitemares every nite about this man. And I can't sleep knowing he's still out there. We are unimaginably broken. I called state police and an investigation is going on, but because we reported it weeks later, the dash cam footage from the ambulance has been erased. The ONLY REASON we reported it late was because she has been in the hosptial 2.5 out of the last 4 weeks and I've been consumed with worry about her health and been distracted and she only told me the full story a few days ago out of shame to tell me. State police has told that pervert's supervisor, but with no footage, they may not have evidence enough to prosecute and not even go to court. They are going to speak to the nurses that cared for her before that ambulance ride and see if it was necessary to remove her clothing and talk to the other driver as well. But if this goes no where legally, I'm going to die inside. I can't bear this anymore and it's traumatized her and me both for different reasons.

Another reason we reported when we did, is that she had to go for another emergency surgery 2 weeks after the first one, so we've been immensely stressed making sure her healthy is ok...also the FEMALE emt in the back of the ambulance for the second surgery didn't touch her at all this time. And it was for a similar surgery. That female emt didn't remove ANYTHING from her and told my wife the only reason we'd have to remove anything is if she coded. My wife immediately broke down hearing that, knowing 100% for sure that that man took full advantage of his trusted position.

Please tell me what to do. Please tell me that there is recourse for this. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER let her go by herself in the back of an ambulance alone with a man again. We will refuse treatment and I'll drive her myself next time if they don't let me ride with her in the back. We are broken. I pray to God that the nurses tell the investigator something that will nail this guy. B/c I don't know wth I'm gonna do if nothing happens over this. It's ruining our peace and trust in this world.
