Wife’s Work Asked Her To Do Something Illegal And More.

Arizona. Corporate company. My wife is a manager of a facility. October of 2024 her boss told her she needed to essentially steal water from the city and to use the fire hydrant so it wouldn’t trigger the alarm for the fire system. She asked if this was illegal and he answered with “it’s something we can get in trouble for, we’re stealing the water and not paying for it. We don’t know who’s paying for the water you guys are taking”. YES WE HAVE PROOF.

She did express how she was uncomfortable with it and it seems like ever since then she’s been treated as an outcast. (Mainly just attitude changes with people she was friendly with and they became very strict and treated her differently but no proof of this.) Also some jabs about her being a woman and how she hired multiple women. Unfortunately no proof of that either.

Also, Just recently she had an issue with 5 employees for a work “offense” 2 of those 5 were disgruntled (mind you these employees are thee problem starters-they have the write ups to prove it and all her other employees do great) and called HR and caused an internal issue. With this it just seems like another form of retaliation because they didn’t ask the manager of the facility what happened just started disciplinary action.

There’s more but I don’t want to give out too much information as she gets her records and ducks in a row. What do we do? She feels like her job is in jeopardy and she feels like she can’t make even the slightest mistake or they will take her job. She is looking for other work ATM but obviously doesn’t want to be fired all because a few months ago she said no to do something illegal and the are upset they can’t trust her to do their dirty work.
