Workplace Shorted Me On My Paycheck

Card image cap

Im a student working part-time at a large fast food chain in Montana and I’ve been working there for over a year now. I generally work holidays and breaks. As I’ve been working there for over a year, I received a raise to my hourly pay.

After working the winter break, beginning of January, I was “accidentally” terminated when they had meant to place me on reserve since I was going back to school. They quickly rehired me, but when I received my paycheck the next week I discovered that it was short several hundred dollars.

Apparently, since I was fired and then rehired, my wage was reset to the starting wage and that what was applied to my paycheck. I talked to my district manager about it, and she promised she would fix it, but that was back in January. I’ve talked to my store manager several times asking for any updates, and she keeps telling me that she hasn’t heard anything from our upper management.

At this point I’m getting tired of this, but I’m not sure how to proceed. I just want to get the money that’s owed to me, is there any legal actions I can take here?
