Wyoming Renter Laws?!

Card image cap

Hey! So we rent in Wyoming. In October 2024, we notified our landlord of our furnace going out. She dropped off space heaters and said "here use these" it ended up costing us $600 in electricity bills. It is now January 1 2025 and our furnace is still not working. We sent her an official letter which she confirmed she received. The letter stated that she had three days to fix the furnace or we'd fix it or take legal action. She cornered my partner during one of her visits to "work on the furnace" and said "we got your letter, that's not happening" (court). My boyfriend being the sweet easy going man he is, just nodded and let them speak. We have since looked at a house we are wanting to move into and have given her notice. We are however, still in an active lease until March 2025. We are wanting to request our deposit back but don't know if we have grounds. My boyfriend rented this place prior to me moving in. When I moved in she increased the rent due to "more people" living in the unit. Is THIS even legal?! And are we entitled to get our deposit back?! He paid $800 when he moved in and I paid $500 when I moved in. We truly want to do only what we are legal entitled to. Please give me any and all advice!
