Join Us For The 2024 Pets+ America’s Coolest Awards Ceremony And Happy Hour
WITH OUR ANNUAL PETS+ America’s Coolest contest, we celebrate some of the best independent pet businesses in the country. We will present the eight 2024 winners with their awards at 3 p.m. Wednesday on the Show Floor Talks Stage. The fun will continue at 4 p.m. at the PETS+ booth (5019), where we’ll host the “America’s Coolest Happy Hour,” with contest sponsor SUPERZOO. Both are open to all attendees. Please join us!
In the meantime, learn a bit about this year’s winners.
The Nautical Dog
Williamsburg, VA
This business has grown to include three storefronts, including one for its Schwartzy’s Cat Cove department, and to serve as a center for holistic pet care. Amanda Wilbourne held her 2nd annual star-studded “The More You Know Pet Wellness Summit” in July.
All Pets Considered
Greensboro, NC
Alison Schwartz has taken over the All Pets Considered brand, expanding the business and community outreach with a creative flair and love of pets.
Bark N Fetch
Frisco, TX
Heather Denton uses smart design to pack everything a pet parent needs into 1,400 square feet, resulting in a welcoming and attractive space that does not overwhelm.
Premium Pets
Jefferson City, MO
Filled with natural light and fun signage, as well as a dedicated staff and only the best pet products, this store by Brittany and Brad Schlup continues to see significant growth year after year.
Bath & Biscuits
Granville, OH
Danielle Wilson puts a unique spin on the grooming salon, day care and boutique concept, infusing her personal steampunk style and love for each pet into a successful business.
AK Bark
Anchorage, AK
By focusing on wants and needs specific to pets in his state, Mark Robokoff has created an intensely Alaskan store the community loves to shop.
The Crazy Dog Mom
Stoughton, WI
Modern and minimal is the winning approach at Amanda Ballweg’s store, from design and displays to ingredient lists. Her customer experience, however — that’s maximal.
Lizzi & Rocco’s Natural Pet Market
Columbia, MO
Jessica and Kyle Schlosser use strong branding and community involvement to tie together their two stores — which offer retail, grooming and a bakery — and the recently acquired Bertha’s Beans Cat Cafe.
See our Jul-Aug issue, available in bins throughout the show floor, to read more about All Pets Considered, AK Bark and Bath & Biscuits. The remaining five winners will be featured in issues through May-June 2025.
