Pida Welcomes New Director Of Meetings & Marketing

(PRESS RELEASE) SOUTHEASTERN, PA — The Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) announced the newest member of its team, Melynda Johnson, who will take on the newly created role of Director of Meetings and Marketing.

Melynda comes to PIDA as a seasoned meeting planner with 15+ years of association experience. She has developed creative and profitable events including board meetings, conferences for over 300 attendees domestically and internationally and an education conference and trade show for 3,000+ attendees. Throughout her career, she has helped to manage boards of directors, association membership and various committees. Melynda prides herself on customer service and relationship management.

“We are delighted to welcome Melynda to the PIDA team,” said Celeste Powers, president of PIDA. “Her extensive meeting planning experience and strategic vision will be invaluable to the continued growth of the Pet Industry Leadership Summit, the only high-level industry event that brings together the top leaders in the pet care community and is brought to you by APPA, PAN, PIDA and WPA. Melynda will be working side-by-side with me and Nina Bull, PIDA’s Manager of Member & Attendee Engagement as we prepare to open registration September 23rd for The Leadership Summit 2025.”

Melynda grew up in Moorestown, NJ and now lives in Central Jersey with her two children, Beckett and Elle and their Australian Labradoodle, Happy. She spends her weekends at soccer, softball and basketball games watching her kids play. Her family has a love for Ocean City, NJ and Manco & Manco pizza on the boardwalk.
