Unidentified Drones Reported Over Raf Bases Used By Us
U.S. troops in Europe reported a swarm of unidentified drones flying over several Air Force bases in the U.K. in the past week, a sighting that comes amid a growing mystery of UFO sightings near military installations.
The drones were spotted at Royal Air Force bases Lakenheath and Mildenhall in Suffolk and Feltwell in Norfolk between Wednesday and Saturday, according to a Monday statement from U.S. Air Forces in Europe.
The U.S. military said the number of drones fluctuated, and they also ranged in size and configuration. Troops monitoring the unmanned systems determined they did not have an adverse impact on the bases or any of the personnel there.
"To safeguard operational security, we do not discuss specific force protection measures, however we retain the right to protect our installations," U.S. Air Forces in Europe said, adding they were continuing to monitor the airspace.
Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Feltwell are bases primarily used by the U.S., and Lakenheath is the only home for America's F-35/F-15 fighter wing in Europe.
The U.S. also reported an unidentified swarm of drones flying near Langley Air Force Base in Virginia in December 2023.
The Pentagon's office that investigates UFOs, which are now referred to as Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs), said earlier this month it now has 18 reports of mysterious aircraft flying near U.S. nuclear weapons sites.
The Pentagon has yet to confirm what the drone sightings are, what exactly the craft were and who was behind it.
