United Airlines To Resume Flights To Tel Aviv In March
- United Airlines will resume flights between Newark and Tel Aviv starting March 15th after suspending them due to tensions in the region.
- This decision comes after a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, though the situation remains volatile.
- Delta Air Lines also announced the resumption of flights to Tel Aviv starting April 1st, while American Airlines has not yet made a decision.
United Airlines will resume flights between Newark and Tel Aviv on March 15, adding a second flight on the route starting March 29.
The airline said in a statement the decision comes after "a detailed assessment of operational considerations for the region and close work with the unions who represent our flight attendants and pilots."
Tensions in the Middle East have cooled slightly since a ceasfire agreement was announced between Israel and Hamas in mid-January, but the situation is still volatile.
Delta Air Lines previously announced it would restart service between New York and Tel Aviv on April 1.
American Airlines has not yet said if it has plans to start serving Tel Aviv again.
“American continuously evaluates its network and we have nothing new to share at this time regarding Tel Aviv service. Customers who are planning travel to Israel can purchase tickets on aa.com on flights operated by our partner airlines that serve Tel Aviv," American Airlines spokesperson Andrea Koos told USA TODAY in a statement.
